The Washington Nationals announced on Tuesday that star outfielder Juan Soto will be placed on a 10-day injured list with a strained left shoulder, per Jesse Doughtery of the Washington Post. To replace Soto’s spot on the roster, the Nationals have recalled Yadiel Hernandez.

For Tuesday night’s game against the Cardinals, Washington will put Kyle Schwarber in left field. The hits just keep coming for the Nationals, who had a rough start to the season, as they missed Opening Day due to COVID-19 issues. Soto was one the few starters who did not land on the COVID-19 list and played well. The 22-year-old slashed .300/.410/.460 with two home runs and eight RBI in 61 plate appearances.

Schwarber, however, is not a bad replacement for the Nationals in the outfielder. The former Chicago Cub outfielder is only slashing .235/.257/.412 with a home run and two RBI in 35 plate appearances.
