We have a full 15-game slate Sunday, with the first game starting at 1:05 p.m. ET between the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals. We are going to look at the best pitching matchup and the sleeper pitching matchup that could turn out to be a pitchers’ duel.

Best Matchup: Julio Urias vs. Anthony DeSclafani

Throughout this weekend we’ve received great pitching matchups between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants. In Game 1, we had Trevor Bauer vs. Alex Wood on Friday night. Then on Saturday night, Walker Buehler took the mound for the Dodgers. And now to wrap-up the series, the Dodgers will put Julio Urias on the bump, while Anthony DeSclafani will start for the Giants.

Urias has a stellar record of 6-1 and ERA of 3.04 through nine starts this season. He also has 60 strikeouts in 56.1 IP and 9.6 K/9. DeSclafani has played an integral part in San Fran’s early season success. The veteran pitcher has a record of 4-1 and ERA of 2.03 through nine starts. The 31-year-old has won his last two starts, where he gave up one earned run and struck out 12 hitters in 12 IP.

Sleeper Matchup: Eduardo Rodriguez vs. Zack Wheeler

The Phillies and Red Sox will wrap-up their three-game set at Citizens Bank Park on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. ET. Eduardo Rodriguez will get the start for the Red Sox. The veteran pitcher has a record of 5-2 with an ERA of 4.70 through eight starts this season. The 28-year-old starter has struggled on the mound recently, allowing four runs or more in three out of his last four starts. As for Wheeler, he’s been the Phillies’ best pitcher this season and has continued to build off of his 2020 season. The former New York Met has a record of 3-2 and ERA of 2.52 through nine starts. In his last five starts, Wheeler has been tremendous, with a record of 2-0 and 1.70 ERA.
