How to watch, what to watch for on May 26th of the 2021 MLB regular season

We take a look at the games on slate for Wednesday, May 26th in the 2021 MLB season.

There will be 15 MLB games on Wednesday and start times will range from 1:10 p.m. ET to 9:40 p.m. ET. There are plenty of key matchups and players who’ll take the field, and we’ve identified some of the best games, fantasy targets, and rookies to watch ahead of the action.

Best Games To Watch

There’s nothing like seeing two top-five offenses go at it, and that’s just what baseball fans will get with Wednesday’s Braves-Red Sox game. Boston is top 2 in hits and runs and dropped a matchup to Atlanta on Tuesday as the Braves extended their winning streak to four games. Both teams are within one game of the lead in their respective divisions, so you should expect high-level baseball.

The Dodgers-Astros matchup is also a game worth keeping an eye on. Both these teams are also second in their respective divisions and boast top-5 offenses. Los Angeles’s Trevor Bauer will face off against an Astros team that’s tallied more hits than any team in MLB. Houston might not be able to match Bauer’s pitching, but it can put up enough runs to bounce back from Tuesday’s loss.

Fantasy Spotlight

The New York Mets got hot at the plate against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday and have a great matchup against German Marquez on Wednesday. While New York is far from being a dominant offensive force, Marquez has walked more batters (30) than any pitcher in MLB. If there ever a time for the Mets to gain momentum, it’s now.

Rookies to Watch

Miami Marlins rookie Jazz Chisholm Jr. is on a roll. The infielder has tallied 13 hits over his last 10 games. He leads National League rookies in home runs with five and leads all rookies in bases stolen (9). He’s batting .294 against the Philadelphia Phillies.
