There are 16 games on the schedule for Wednesday because the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals need to grace us with their presence two times. The Mets got some bad news Tuesday with ace Jacob deGrom (lat) being scratched from his scheduled start. For now, deGrom looks like he won’t be placed on the injured list and could return to the rotation later in the week. That’s good news considering deGrom is leading in the NL Cy Young race and has snuck into the NL MVP conversation as well.
Best Games To Watch
The Astros-Yankees series has a lot of juicy narrative and Tuesday gave us a good start to the series. Giancarlo Stanton went yard and an Alex Bregman error helped the Yanks take a 7-3 win to extend their winning streak to four games. The Astros are in the Bronx with fans in the stands for the first time since their cheating scandal came to light. The pitching matchup leaves a bit to be desired but we still get to watch Stanton, Aaron Judge, Bregman and Jose Altuve.
Shohei Ohtani is going to be on the hill and having his start pushed a few days. It’s always fascinating watching Ohtani pitch and then get ABs. We’ll see if he’s in the lineup as well as on the mound against the Rays.
Fantasy Spotlight
Jose Ramirez ($5,700) is on another one of those tears for the Tribe. He’s got a hit in 10 of his past 11 games, including four multi-hit outings during that span. Ramirez has homered four times during this stretch and gets to face rookie Royals starter Brady Singer, who has had some control issues in multiple starts. This makes Ramirez and a Indians stack a decent chalk strategy.
