How to watch, what to watch for on June 1st of the 2021 MLB regular season

We take a look at the games on slate for Tuesday, June 1st in the 2021 MLB season.

MLB: St. Louis Cardinals at Los Angeles Dodgers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

All 30 MLB teams are scheduled to be in action on Tuesday as the month of June begins. The slate of 15 MLB games will get started at 6:10 p.m. ET with the final window of the night beginning at 10:10 p.m. ET.

Best Games To Watch

The best game of the night will feature the two best teams in the American League Central when the Cleveland Indiana host the first place Chicago White Sox after the two split a doubleheader on Memorial Day. Fortunately, this game will be featured on national TV at 6:10 p.m. ET on FS1. Another game to watch is the Chicago Cubs vs. the San Diego Padres from Wrigley Field. The Cubs lead the National League Central, while the Padres are just 0.5 games out of the N.L. West as both teams figure to be part of the playoff picture in a few months.

Fantasy Spotlight

John Gant will get the start for the St. Louis Cardinals, and he has gotten off to a hot start this season. He has only reached six innings of work once in nine starts, but he will enter Tuesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 1.81 ERA, coming off a five-inning shutout performance against the Chicago White Sox. It might make sense to go elsewhere if you are considering a Dodgers hitter in DFS.

Go after Kansas City Royals batters as they go up against Pittsburgh Pirates starter Wil Crowe, who has an 0-3 record and 5.67 ERA through six starts and seven appearances. First baseman Carlos Santana could be a solid option in DFS formats.

Rookies to Watch

Tampa Bay Rays leftfielder Randy Arozarena is a player baseball fans should become familiar with because he’s got a good chance at winning the American League Rookie of the Year award. The Rays will play at hitter-friendly Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night. For the Cardinals, leftfielder Dylan Carlson is a rookie to keep an eye on as the 22-year-old does a fantastic job finding his way on base with a .357 on-base percentage and homered in two straight games.
