All 30 MLB teams will be in action on Wednesday, June 16th with a full slate of baseball from afternoon till late night. Of the 15 games taking place, we will take a look at the top games, fantasy implications and rookies to keep your eyes on throughout the day.
Best Games To Watch
The Tampa Bay Rays and Chicago White Sox have been two of the best teams in baseball all season long, and they will wrap up a three-game series on Wednesday afternoon at 2:10 p.m. ET in Chicago. The Rays will enter with the best record in the MLB at 43-25 with the White Sox right behind them tied for the second best record at 42-25.
In the National League, the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets have an interesting matchup, and it can be seen on ESPN+ at 7:10 p.m. ET. The Cubs are tied for the top spot in the N.L. Central with a 38-29 record, while the Mets are the only team in the N.L. West to have an above .500 record at 34-24.
Fantasy Spotlight
Jacob deGrom has nearly perfected throwing a baseball for the Mets this season. He will enter Wednesday’s game with a 6-2 record and 0.56 ERA through 10 starts as New York attempts to go for the sweep. At the plate, Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter Vladimir Guerrero Jr. might be the best hitter in baseball right now. He has a .345 batting average, which is the second highest in the MLB, and he leads the league in home runs and RBIs. He and Toronto will host the New York Yankees at 7:07 p.m. ET.
Rookies to Watch
The biggest baseball game of the day will involve one of the top players who might be one of the future stars of the MLB. Rays left fielder Randy Arozarena is on a roll right now on a 10-game hitting streak. On the mound, Atlanta Braves rookie starter Ian Anderson will start against the Boston Red Sox, and he’s been a solid contributor to the rotation. He is 4-3 with a 3.26 ERA this season and threw seven scoreless innings in his last time out.
