We have a full 15-game slate in the majors Wednesday, beginning at 2:05 p.m. ET. Before first pitch between the San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers, we’ll take a look at the best games on the schedule, rookies to keep an eye out for, and spotlight a relevant fantasy option.
Best Games To Watch
There are a good number of games to watch on Wednesday throughout the day, starting with the Giants and Rangers at 2:05 p.m. ET on MLB Network. San Fran defeated Texas 9-4 on Tuesday night and will try to sweep the two-game set this afternoon. But it won’t be easy as the Rangers will have their best pitcher on the mound in Kyle Gibson (4-0, 2.06 ERA). The Giants will start Zack Littell, who will be making his third career start and be the opener for them.
A few other games to check out over the course of the day will be the Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres at 4:10 p.m. ET, the Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox at 7:10 p.m. ET, and the Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago White Sox at 8:10 p.m. ET. Finally, to end the night, the Kansas City Royals and Los Angeles Angels will face off at 9:38 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins is one of the hottest hitters in the baseball and is at a great value in MLB DFS. Mullins is slugging .325 with 9 HRs, 19 RBI, and averaging 9.1 fantasy points per game this season. The 26-year-old outfielder has recorded a hit in eight consecutive games, which includes three straight double digit DFS performances. With that type of production, along with a salary of $4200 in DFS, Mullins is a great option to play.
Rookies to Watch
Blue Jays rookie pitcher Alek Manoah will be making his third MLB start against the White Sox at 8:10 p.m. ET. Manoah struggled in his last start against the Miami Marlins, where he allowed 3 HRs and produced 5 strikeouts in only 3.1 IP. He’ll have his hands full against this White Sox lineup that features Jose Abreu, Yermin Mercedes, and Tim Anderson.
