The 2021 MLB Draft will take place right at the beginning of the All-Star Break on Sunday, July 11th. As we hit the mid-way point of the 2021 season, a handful of top baseball prospects will either find a new home or opt to re-enter the draft pool at a later date and head to the college ranks. The Pittsburgh Pirates have the privilege of selecting first overall in the 2021 draft after finishing the shortened season 19-41 in 2020.
Among the top prospects for the 2021 draft are a few notable Vanderbilt hurlers: Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker. Both players are expected to go in the first round with Leiter likely to go in the top 5. The son of former MLB pitcher Al Leiter, Jack has his sights set on joining the Boston Red Sox, who have the No. 4 pick.
