The 2021 MLB Draft will take place during All-Star Week in Denver with three days of coverage. The draft will start on Sunday, July 11th at 7 p.m. ET with the first round and comp A picks while there are two more days of draft picks to get through 20 rounds. Some of the top baseball prospects will find out where they’ll be headed or opt to return to college and seek a better draft slot.
The Pittsburgh Pirates have the rights to the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 draft and they’ll have a tough decision ahead. Do you go with the proven pitchers or the high school projects? The most likely player to be taken by the Pirates appears to be SS Marcelo Mayer out of California. There are a few other SS prospects at the top of the class along with Vanderbilt P Jack Leiter. The Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox round out the top 4 teams selecting.

The 2021 draft will begin at 7 p.m. ET with the first 36 picks broadcast on MLB Network and ESPN. You can also stream live online via MLB.com and WatchESPN. The next two days will begin in the afternoon. Day 2 will start at 1 p.m. ET and Day 3 will begin at noon, both days being broadcast via live online stream on MLB.com.
