UPDATE: Anthony Davis will be available to play in tonight’s game vs. the Kings. He will not have a minutes restriction.

The Lakers didn’t really need Anthony Davis for their 26-point win over the Warriors on Wednesday, but it doesn’t hurt to get him back, right? Los Angeles is expected to have its big man back in the rotation for tonight’s game against Sacramento, which is a good sign considering Davis is dealing with shoulder and rib injuries.

With Davis out the other night, we saw a monster night from JaVale McGee at $3,700. He scored 18 points with 17 boards for 54.75 DraftKings fantasy points, essentially breaking the slate. Kyle Kuzma also returned nice value at $4,100 with 30.75 DKFP on 22 points and five boards. LeBron James was underwhelming by his standards and expectations with Davis out, but still eclipsed 50 fantasy points.

Let’s take a look at how to approach tonight’s lineup if Davis is back in.

Fantasy Basketball Analysis, Los Angeles Lakers PF/C Anthony Davis

Davis’ potential return impacts the three names I listed above the most. Kuzma ($5,600) would head back to the bench and we’ve now seen his price start to normalize after being way too low the past couple games. It’s still a decent matchup, but unless Davis has a restriction, I’d lean against Kuzma in anything other than GPPs. Even that’s a stretch.

JaVale McGee will still start but won’t get nearly as many touches or rebounding opportunities with Davis back. Plus, he’s another one who saw his price jump significantly after Wednesday’s game, now up to $5,900. McGee and Kuz are fades in my eyes, along with Dwight Howard at $5,200. There will be better value opening up.

James’ price only went up $100 and this is a great matchup at home for the Lakers, so I don’t see any problem rolling him out in tournaments. I would argue this is a better spot for The King than the other night. I was a victim too, but we should have seen a blowout and fewer minutes for LeBron vs. Golden State.

It’s also worth noting Avery Bradley (leg) is listed as probable and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (ankle) is questionable. Rajon Rondo ($4,900) rested the last game so he should return off the bench. He’d maybe get more run if Bradley were suddenly out, but the price isn’t generous again.

As far as DraftKings Sportsbook lines, the Lakers are 10.5-point favorites and are -625 on the moneyline, this is assuming Davis is back in the lineup. The way LA is playing and the fact the Kings are missing De’Aaron Fox leads me to think the Lakers can cover. The 216.5 O/U also seems a bit low.
