The Pelicans announced Friday a lengthy injury list prior to their matchup vs. the Heat on Saturday.
Pelicans Injury report - 11/16 at MIA:
— Pelicans PR (@PelicansPR) November 15, 2019
PROBABLE: B. Ingram (R Knee Soreness)
QUESTIONABLE: L. Ball (R Adductor Strain), J. Okafor (L Ankle Sprain), J. Redick (L Great Toe Sprain)
OUT: J. Hart (L Knee/Ankle Sprain), D. Miller (R Achilles Surgery), Z. Williamson (R Knee Scope)
As you can see, ahhh yeah, it’s long. So Brandon Ingram (knee) is probable after missing the past two games, while Lonzo Ball (adductor), Jahlil Okafor (ankle) and J.J. Redick (toe) are all listed as questionable to play. Guard Josh Hart (knee, ankle) will remain out after missing Thursday’s game vs. the Clippers.
How Should You Handle the Pelicans’ Injuries vs. the Heat?
So Ingram coming back is good news for the team but not so great news for Jrue Holiday owners. Holiday will take a hit in usage with Ingram back and may not be as viable a DFS play. Though, he’ll still see plenty of minutes unless Ball is able to return. If all three of Ball, Redick and Okafor sit, Holiday, E’Twaun Moore, Kenrich Williams and Jaxson Hayes are the main beneficiaries. Frank Jackson would also see minutes behind Holiday as the backup point guard. Be wary though, this matchup vs. the Heat in Miami isn’t great considering they rank 3rd overall in defensive efficiency and have a strong rebounding rate.
Keep an eye on the news Saturday heading into tip-off at 8:00 p.m. ET.
