The Brooklyn Nets will remain without the services of point guard Kyrie Irving (shoulder) for Monday night’s game vs. the Indiana Pacers. Irving sat out last Friday’s win over the Chicago Bulls and actually looked pretty good without their top player.
Fantasy Basketball Analysis, Brooklyn Nets PG Kyrie Irving
The absence of Irving opens up a ton of usage and looks for everyone else on the roster. The most notable bump goes to Spencer Dinwiddie ($6,000), who should start again for Kyrie and will be the primary ball-handler. Dinwiddie becomes a nice cash-game play to go along with Tristan Thompson ($5,600) for the Cavaliers vs. the Knicks.
As far as other viable plays, Jarrett Allen ($4,900), Joe Harris ($5,400) and Taurean Prince ($5,300) are all starters who played well without Irving in the lineup. All three would be more GPP plays than chalk, however. As far as approaching this game on DraftKings Sportsbook, the line is now down to Nets -2 after Brooklyn opened as 4.5 point favorites. The fact the game will be close bodes well for the fantasy players above. Without much star power, the UNDER of 215 seems like a number to jump on now before it gets bet down more.
