Kawhi Leonard ruled out for Wednesday’s game vs. the Grizzlies

Clippers forward will rest for load management on tonight’s 14-game slate. We break down the fantasy basketball impact.

Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game vs. the Memphis Grizzlies. Los Angeles says that Kawhi is dealing with the knee injury again, but this is more load management than anything with teams taking a break for Thanksgiving tomorrow. This isn’t particularly surprising, so let’s take a look at the fantasy impact.

For one, Paul George ($8,600) becomes a very viable play on DraftKings. He should see more minutes with Kawhi out and will take over as the main option on offense. PG-13 had a couple of monster games against weaker opponents with Leonard sidelined. As far as value, I don’t mind Lou Williams ($6,900) in GPPs at his price point. He’ll still come off the bench, but would be in line for big usage, plus he’s scored at least 21 points in three of the past four games.

As for the betting ankle, right now the Clippers are favored by 7.0 points on DraftKings Sportsbook. I think this is generous for LA. They’re a much better team than the Grizzlies with or without Kawhi Leonard and should have no issue winning this game by double-digits. Plus, Ja Morant is a game-time decision, and his absence would make the Clippers’ spot even more favorable.
