The Boston Celtics faithful didn’t get their chance to stick it to Kyrie Irving on Wednesday night. Fortunately for them, they did get to witness the strength of Kemba Walker. In what many viewed as a quick return from injury, Walker dropped a season-high 39 points with six rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes for 56.5 DraftKings fantasy points.
Walker was one of the top plays on the slate at $6,700 on DK, though he was very high ownership in most contests given the discounted price. Still, it’s a bit surprising Walker was able to return quickly and go right back to dominating. And I do mean dominating. Walker shot 13-of-24 from the field and 6-of-10 from long range. He’s now averaging 22.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.6 assists in his first season with the Celtics.
Boston is back in action Friday against these same Nets, this time over in Brooklyn.
