There are 10 games going on in the NBA for Friday, December 6th and we’ll be keeping an eye on all the latest injuries and lineup news heading into lock at 7:00 p.m. ET. Below is a table tracking each notable player, and we’ll drop in updates throughout the day with useful information for both DFS and season-long fantasy basketball.
UPDATE: Cory Joseph (back) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (knee) are both available to play vs. Spurs
Cory Joseph (back) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (knee) are both available tonight. Joseph will start.— Jason Jones (@mr_jasonjones) December 7, 2019
UPDATE: Justise Winslow (back) has been ruled out vs. Wizards
Justise Winslow is out tonight, due to lower-back pain. Should open additional time for Derrick Jones Jr. (or James Johnson?).— Ira Winderman (@IraHeatBeat) December 7, 2019
With Winslow sidelined, Kendrick Nunn and Jimmy Butler get the biggest bump. Nunn is a good value play on DraftKings, and Butler also is a great play overall at $8,100.
UPDATE: Andrew Wiggins (thumb) has been ruled out, Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) will play vs. Thunder
UPDATED: Timberwolves Status Report for Dec. 6 at OKC:— Timberwolves PR (@Twolves_PR) December 7, 2019
Shabazz Napier - Right Hamstring Strain
Karl-Anthony Towns – Right Knee Tendinopathy
Andrew Wiggins – Left Thumb Sprain
Naz Reid - Right Shoulder Soreness
Jake Layman - Left Toe Sprain
So we got the big news of the night. Wiggins is out and KAT is available to play vs. the Thunder tonight. So with KAT in and Wiggins out, KAT is a great GPP play in DraftKings and obviously you’re going to start him in season-long. With Wiggins out, Robert Covington and Jarrett Culver get a nice little bump in usage, so both of them are viable DFS options.
UPDATE: JaMychal Green (tailbone) will not play vs. Bucks
Doc Rivers said JaMychal Green still out with bruised tailbone.— Brad Turner (@BA_Turner) December 7, 2019
UPDATE: Markieff Morris (neck) will not play vs. Pacers
Morris being out is a bit of a surprise, and it has some impact on how we approach Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond tonight. We also may see some Christian Wood off the bench since the Pistons don’t have much in the front court. He’d make for a decent value play, though on a 10-game slate, this game offers little appeal.
UPDATE: Dion Waiters (illness) will remain out vs. the Wizards
Dion Waiters (illness) listed as out for tonight’s game vs. Wizards. He has yet to play this season.— Anthony Chiang (@Anthony_Chiang) December 6, 2019
UPDATE: Deonte Burton suspended for Thunder
Oklahoma City Thunder has suspended guard Deonte Burton one game for conduct detrimental to the team.— Chris Haynes (@ChrisBHaynes) December 6, 2019
Update: Kevin Love (illness) has been ruled out vs. Magic
The Cavaliers will be without Love for tonight’s game vs. the Magic. With Love out, we’re still waiting on Tristan Thompson’s status, which appears unclear at this point. If both are out, Larry Nance Jr. will get a ton of minutes in the front court. Cedi Osman and John Henson would also be strong value plays on DraftKings, and worth a look as streamers in season-long.
UPDATE: Marvin Bagley (thumb) ruled out. Bogdan Bogdanovic, Cory Joseph questionable vs. Spurs
The Kings have ruled Marvin Bagley III (thumb) out for tonight's game against the Spurs. Bogdan Bogdanovic (knee) and Cory Joseph (back) are questionable. LaMarcus Aldridge has been upgraded from questionable to available for San Antonio.— Jason Anderson (@JandersonSacBee) December 6, 2019
Bagley won’t make his return to the lineup tonight. Bogdanovic and Joseph remain questionable to play. If Joseph is out, expect Yogi Farrell to start in his place. Buddy Hield would also get a nice bump in usage and ball-handling.
UPDATE: Ian Mahinmi and Isaiah Thomas ruled out vs. Heat
The Wizards will be without Mahinmi and Thomas for a second straight game. With Thomas sidelined again, we can expect Ish Smith to get another start, so he’d be a solid pickup in season-long formats and is another value option on DraftKings in DFS.
UPDATE: LaMarcus Aldridge (thigh) is available to play vs. Kings
The Spurs have announced LaMarcus Aldridge is available for tonight’s game against the Kings.— Paul Garcia (@PaulGarciaNBA) December 6, 2019
The Spurs will get LMA back in the lineup tonight against Sacramento after the PF missed the past two games. This should send Jakob Poeltl back to the bench and Lonnie Walker IV should see a decreased role after having a big game Tuesday vs. the Rockets. LMA is safe to roll out in season-long and his price on DK ($7,000) isn’t bad.
UPDATE: Thaddeus Young (personal) ruled out vs. Warriors
Thad Young out vs. Warriors for personal reasons. Will meet Bulls in Miami.— K.C. Johnson (@KCJHoop) December 6, 2019
This is a bit of a surprise, but Thad Young won’t be available for Chicago tonight. With Young out and Otto Porter still sidelined, we should see more of rookie Daniel Gafford, as well as wing Denzel Valentine. Young is a strong defender, so bump to Warriors interior forwards.
UPDATE: D’Angelo Russell (thumb) will play vs. Bulls
D’Angelo Russell, previously listed as probable, will play in Chicago tonight. Got a finger kicked on his left hand in Charlotte. Jacob Evans won’t play.— Anthony Slater (@anthonyVslater) December 6, 2019
D’Lo was listed as probable, so this isn’t all that surprising. Russell returned to action on Wednesday and scored 18 points in his return. That game was a blowout, so Russ only played around 26 minutes, but tonight he’s in a much better spot vs. Chicago. I’d say he’s safe to play in season-long, but not an appealing DFS option.
UPDATE: Karl-Anthony Towns (knee), Andrew Wiggins (thumb) both game-time decisions
Saunders says both Towns (knee) & Wiggins (thumb) both will be re-evaluated before the game.— Alan Horton (@WolvesRadio) December 6, 2019
This isn’t exactly GTD for both players, but we’ll see when they’re actually re-evaluated. With this news, we have to be a bit careful with KAT. Wiggins was questionable before, so it seems he’s trending in the direction of being out. Either way, we don’t know yet. If Wiggins is out, KAT is a great all-around play in DFS and season-long. If both are out, Robert Covington, Jeff Teague and Jarrett Culver are the way to go.
UPDATE: Kevin Love (illness) questionable vs. Magic
Kevin Love missed #Cavs’ shootaround with an illness, questionable for tonight— Marla Ridenour (@MRidenourABJ) December 6, 2019
Love was not at shootaround and may not be able to play for the Cavaliers tonight vs. the Magic. If that’s the case, Tristan Thompson and Larry Nance Jr. should pick up the slack. Both would be viable plays in season-long. Collin Sexton would also pick up more touches on offense.
UPDATE: Marcus Smart expected to play
Marcus Smart (abdominal bruise) looks like he will be able to play tonight vs #Nuggets according to Brad Stevens. He went through all of what they did during the team's morning shoot around.— A. Sherrod Blakely (@ASherrodblakely) December 6, 2019
Per coach Brad Stevens, it appears Smart will be able to play tonight vs. the Nuggets. He had missed the last game vs. the Heat with an illness and is dealing with an oblique injury. With Smart back, Grant Williams will go back to the bench and Brad Wanamaker should get fewer minutes.
