The NBA will release its schedule for the first half of the 2020-21 season on Friday. NBA teams started training camp on Tuesday with the season set to begin on Dec. 22.
The Golden State Warriors had a forgettable 2019-20 season. What started with championship aspirations was swiftly shot down by Stephen Curry injuring his hand (and the lack of Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant). Draymond Green mailed in the season. D’Angelo Russell never worked out. Things were kind of a mess for the Dubs. In a way, though, the down season was a blessing in disguise.
The Warriors had a hell of an offseason (minus Thompson tearing his Achilles). Golden State drafted a potential franchise center in James Wiseman. The Dubs struck an emergency trade for SF Kelly Oubre Jr. to try and compensate for the loss of Klay. Oubre isn’t Thompson, but he’s also a player who was on the cusp of All-Stardom with the Suns. If Oubre stays healthy and takes another step under Steve Kerr and Steph, that along with Andrew Wiggins, Green and a slew of young bench depth, the Warriors could be looking at another deep playoff run.
Here’s the Dubs schedule so far:
