The NBA is back! We begin the 2020-21 regular season with two marquee matchups with heavy narratives. The first game on tap is going to be the Golden State Warriors against the Brooklyn Nets. This will be Kevin Durant’s first NBA game since the 2019 playoffs, when he ruptured his Achilles while playing for the Dubs. So not only is it his first game back in a while, but also his first game against his former team. KD won a few championships in his time with the Warriors, so there shouldn’t be much bad blood, only competitiveness.
Heading over to the Battle of L.A. ... LeBron James and Anthony Davis will begin their title defense against the rival Clippers at Staples Center. It won’t be the same type of banner raising ceremony with the arena not being packed with celebs. Still, it’s a great way to start off the regular season with four All-Stars going at it again. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George won’t have a familiar face in Montrezl Harrell, who bolted for the Lakers in free agency. That’s the big-time narrative in this game.
Below we have the schedule for the two-game slate as well as some betting information to keep track of throughout the day:
