Update — Sexton cooled off in the second half but finished with a team-high 27 points on 9-of-16 shooting. He also notched 5 rebounds and 2 assists. His performance paled in comparison to Terry Rozier’s in the end. The Hornets guard totaled a game-high 42 points on 15-of-23 shooting.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are putting it on the Charlotte Hornets in their Wednesday season opener and have amassed a 65-44 lead at the break. No player has been more impactful than Collin Sexton so far. The third-year guard is setting the nets ablaze.
Sexton has scored a game-high 18 points on 6-of-7 shooting to go along with 2 rebounds and three assists in 18 minutes. He’s dictating the pace of the game and appears to be getting any shot he wants. It’s unlikely that he’ll keep shooting 85 percent from the field but he appears ready to assert himself as a dominant scoring force in the NBA.
Be prepared to see a lot more of this.
