Also let’s go over some of the top fantasy basketball Showdown performances on DraftKings:

Top Captain’s Picks

Giannis Antetokounmpo — 81.375 DKFP
Kawhi Leonard — 78.375 DKFP
LeBron James — 63.375 DKFP
Kyle Lowry — 54.375 DKFP

Let’s do a quick recap of the betting lines and what hit:

Point Spread: Team LeBron -7 did not hit. Final score 157-155.
Over/Under Total: 307.5 — HIT at 312
Money Line: Team LeBron -230

11:41 p.m. — Kawhi Leonard has won the Kobe Bryant NBA All-Star Game MVP award with 30 points to lead all scorers and help Team LeBron win. Here’s a video of Kawhi’s acceptance speech.

11:32 p.m. - AD FTW. Davis gave Team LeBron 157-155 win over Team Giannis in the 69th NBA All-Star Game in Chicago on Sunday night. What a game. That was easily the most exciting ASG ever. Not even close. The new format will help us remember the competitive nature of Kobe and get some of the best basketball ever.

For bettors, the OVER hit at well over 307.5 on DKSB. AD finished with 20 points and nine rebounds. LeBron had 23 points and Kawhi had 30 points and seven boards.

For Team Giannis, Antetokounmpo finished with 25 points, 11 boards and four assists. Joel Embiid, Kemba Walker and Rudy Gobert both went for over 20 points and Gobert had a double-double.

Keep it here at DK Nation for the MVP announcement and some stats recaps.

11:28 p.m. — Not one. Not two. THREE CHALLENGES. Kyle Lowry blatantly fouled AD down low and Davis is most likely going to the line for the win.

11:26 p.m. — 156-155 Team LeBron. Next bucket wins. Here we go. You can’t even find this type of intensity in the NBA Finals. It feels like the playoffs on steroids right now.

11:23 p.m. — After getting away with one on James Harden, Lowry was called for an offensive foul and Team LeBron just got a dunk from LeBron to go up 156-153.

11:18 p.m. — DID HE GOAL TEND THERE? It’s tough to tell. This could be a huge call. Team LeBron would go up 156-153 and would need one more bucket to win the All-Star Game. It’s such a bang-bang play, but they’re going to say no basket and it’s a jump ball. Score remains 154-153.

11:13 p.m. — NO FOUL. JUMP BALL. 5 POINTS. LETS DO THIS.

11:11 p.m. — Uh oh. The refs just called for a foul and a jump at the same time. They’re going to give the foul though. Embiid will go to the line with the teams tied 152-152. The over under was 305.5 and the total right now is 304. BIG SWEAT TIME FOR OVER BETTORS LETS GO.

OMG A CHALLENGE. WAIT. THEY’RE CHALLENGING IT. IT’S AN ALL-STAR GAME!!!

11:09 p.m. — This is insanity. Teams are tied. 5 points away from the target score. 152 a piece.

11:05 p.m. — Both teams are going full throttle, Charlie’s Angels 2 right now. Team LeBron has stormed back and has LeBron, Kawhi, Harden, CP3 and AD out on the court. Team Giannis has Giannis, Embiid, Lowry, Siakam and Kemba on the court.

CP3 and Lowry are the two non-starters out there. It’s interesting that the new format is forcing both teams to sort of switch up their rotation a bit late in the game. Could play a factor in betting and DFS in future All-Star Game contests.

10:56 p.m. — This is a fourth quarter Kobe Bryant would have been proud of, man. Competing to 24 in the fourth has made this one of the best All-Star Games in recent memory. Plus, both teams are playing for charity. The NBA and everyone involved really nailed this.

It’s 144-141 and the teams are aiming for 157. The O/U was 305.5 and the total right now is 285. Right now, Giannis still has 25-9-4 and would be frontrunner for MVP. Kemba Walker is up to 23 points and is having a good fourth. Gobert also in the mix. Giannis is +400, Gobert was +10000 and Walker +2500 for MVP.

10:54 p.m. — Giannis just stuffed LeBron on a fadeaway jumper. You just don’t see this type of defense in an All-Star Game. We’re being spoiled right now.

10:50 p.m. — Russ is going to the line and Team LeBron has made a little 9-4 run early in the fourth to cut into the lead. The target score right now is 157 for both teams and Team Giannis is up 137-133. This new format is actually making this some incredible basketball so far. Teams are playing hard to get that W.

10:44 p.m. — After the third quarter, let’s go over the stats for each side:

Team LeBron
Kawhi — 28 points, 4 rebounds
LeBron — 19 points, 4 assists
AD — 13 points, 7 rebounds

Team Giannis
Giannis — 25 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists
Gobert — 21 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists
Kemba — 16 points
Trae Young — 10 points, 10 assists, halfcourt buzzer beater

10:41 p.m. — The third quarter is done and it ended in a tie 41-41. Team LeBron still trails overall at 133-124, so they’ll need 33 points in order to win, while Team Giannis only needs 24 points.

If you’re betting the OVER/UNDER, that means that 57 total points can be scored in the quarter before a team wins. At 257 after three quarters and the O/U being 305.5, there’s a shot the OVER will hit. It’s still not looking good considering a team can simply go on a long run. Over bettors need Team LeBron to go on a run to even the odds a bit.

10:35 p.m. — Is it just me or is Rudy Gobert quietly about to win MVP over Giannis? He’s got 17 points, 10 rebounds and two assists in 16 minutes and is a big reason why Team Giannis is up by so much. He’s +14 in this game and his odds to win MVP entered at +10000, the longest odds on DKSB. It would be a major payout if Gobert ends up winning it.

10:27 p.m. — We’ve got a timeout on the floor, so quick stats update. It’s 119-106 Team Giannis overall.

Team LeBron
Kawhi — 28 points, 4 boards, 8 3s
LeBron — 19 points, 4 assists
AD — 13 points, 7 boards

Team Giannis
Giannis — 25 points, 7 boards, 4 assists
Kemba Walker — 16 points, 4 assists
Gobert — 13 points, 9 boards, 2 assists

10:21 p.m. — Doncic just knocked down back-to-back 3s but Team LeBron is down 113-100 overall with 6:12 left in the third. Giannis is up to 25-8-4. LeBron has five turnovers with 15 points, but needs to take this game over to get his team back in it.

10:19 p.m. — Kawhi is 8-11 from downtown and has a game-high 28 points for Team LeBron.

10:17 p.m. — Team Giannis is sneakily pulling away right now after being 7-point dogs. They’re up 11-3 in the third quarter so, that’s a 17-point lead overall. Giannis is on his way to a double-double and could run away with another MVP award.

10:02 p.m. — We’re almost underway in the third quarter and the cumulative score is 92-83, which puts the game total at 175. That would be on pace to smash the OVER, but remember, we’ve got one more quarter and then no clock in the fourth, first to 24 points. This third quarter is huge for OVER bettors.

9:41 p.m. — So Team Giannis leads 92-83 overall in the game heading into halftime. Let’s go over some stats and fantasy basketball Showdown numbers so far:

Team LeBron
Leonard — 25 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists (54.75 DKFP as CPT)
LeBron — 9 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, 5 turnovers (12.5 DKFP)
AD — 9 points, 3 rebounds (16.75)
CP3 — 11 points, 4 assists (18.75)

Team Giannis
Giannis — 20 points, 5 rebounds (27.75 DKFP)
Gobert — 9 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists (25.5 DKFP)
Young — 8 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds (22.75 DKFP)

The frontrunners for MVP right now are Kawhi (+1600) and Giannis (+400). It should be a tight game in the third with Team LeBron looking to overcome a nine-point deficit.

9:40 p.m. — TRAE YOUNG HALFCOURT BUZZER BEATER TO GET US TO HALFTIME IN THE ALL-STAR GAME. Team Giannis won the second quarter 51-30, which has them up overall in the game.

9:29 p.m. — Okay, let’s do a quick stats recap for both teams:

Team LeBron
Kawhi Leonard — 22 points, 4 rebounds
Chris Paul — 11 points, 4 assists
Ben Simmons — 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists

Team Giannis
Giannis — 20 points, 5 rebounds
Kemba Walker — 10 points
Rudy Gobert — 6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks

If Team Giannis pulls this off then Antetokounmpo is going to win MVP at +400 odds most likely. Team LeBron is a mixed bag. Leonard is out in front right now, but with so many talented players on that side, we can’t count out LeBron, AD, Harden and Doncic for MVP.

9:27 p.m. — LeBron has finally checked back into the game because Giannis is absolutely dominating right now. The Greek Freak is up to 20 points. He also has five rebounds. Leonard in front of Giannis with 22 points on 5-6 shooting from downtown.

9:20 p.m. — We’re just under 7:00 left in the second quarter and Chris Paul just had an alley-oop dunk at +1,000,000 odds everywhere. That’s not true at all, don’t listen to me. CP3 is ballin’ though right now. He’s up to 11 points and 4 assists so far through nine minutes at +6600 to win MVP. Those were the second-longest odds overall and CP3 may be the frontrunner for the award right now.

Giannis is the leading scorer in the game at 14 points with 4 rebounds, but his team isn’t in great shape to get the win.

9:15 p.m. — We’re off in the second quarter and as a reminder, the score has reset. But keep in mind the score at the end of the first was 53-41, so Team Giannis will need to make up some ground here anyway in order to stay within striking distance in the fourth. Then the winning team will need 24 points to get the W.

9:10 p.m. — So the first quarter is done and here’s a quick recap of the action so far:

Team LeBron
Kawhi — 12 points, 3 rebounds
LeBron — 7 points, 1 assist
AD — 9 points
Harden — 6 assists
Ben Simmons — 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists (+3000 for MVP)

Team Giannis
Adebayo — 8 points
Giannis, Walker — 6 points each
Young — 4 assists

So right now Team LeBron is out in front 53-41, so the top candidates to win MVP will likely come from that side. Simmons I would say is ahead with Kawhi right there. It’ll be an interesting race the rest of the game. The pace is way up and we could actually see the OVER of 305.5 hit in this game if this continues.

8:59 p.m. — We’ve got another stoppage with just under 4:00 left in the first quarter. Simmons entered the game and has four quick points. Bam Adebayo also with a quick four-spot for Team Giannis off the bench. If I’d give the MVP edge to anyone, it’d probably be Kawhi at this point. Harden has six assists and would be the closest to a double-double if he starts scoring a bit. Harden was +1400 to win MVP.

8:57 p.m. — Luka just had a nice give and go with Ben Simmons that ended with Simmons slamming down an alley-oop. Team LeBron is starting to roll now up 39-24. Remember, the spread closed at Team LBJ -7, so right now looking like an easy cover. We’ll see if Team Giannis can get back into it.

8:51 p.m. — We’ve got our first break after a very fast-paced spurt of action to start the All-Star Game. Here’s a mini-recap of who is out front in terms of points so far:

Team LeBron
LeBron — 7 points
Anthony Davis — 9 points
Kawhi Leonard — 12 points

Team Giannis
Giannis — 6 points
Walker — 6 points
Siakam and Embiid — 4 points each

Leonard also has three boards and an assist. James Harden is scoreless but also has five dimes. Doncic has a few assists as well and a dunk. Here’s the Doncic-James slam:

8:49 p.m. — LeBron is out to the early points lead with 9 so far. He’s had a couple of huge finishes at the rim. Kemba Walker has hit two treys of his own for Team Giannis.

8:47 p.m.Kawhi Leonard has hit two 3s early on and we just got a Doncic to LeBron fastbreak slam. Things are starting to open up a bit.

8:44 p.m. — We’re about to tip-off. My ASG MVP pick is still Luka Doncic at +1200 tonight. Though my gut tells me LeBron will ultimately win.

8:36 p.m. — So they just sang the National Anthems so I think the game is actually going to start soon. Hold tight folks, we’ll have high-flying All-Star basketball shortly.

7:55 p.m. — We’ve updated the odds on DKSB for the game and the line has moved even more to -7 in favor of Team LeBron. It’s no surprise since the team is absolutely stacked. I mean, still, it’s an All-Star Game, so I think the value is in Team Giannis on the spread. The UNDER is favorable considering the new format, particularly the capped fourth quarter.

7:51 p.m. — We’re going through pre-game warmups right now before the game starts at 8:00 p.m. ET on TNT. Interested to see how this plays out with the new format.
