The Golden State Warriors are going through a lost season, but they will soon welcome back superstar Stephen Curry from a broken hand injury. Curry has been doing on-court work for some time now, but on Saturday, he was cleared for contact. Head coach Steve Kerr announced that Curry was able to go through a scrimmage on Saturday, according to reporter Kerith Burke.
Curry has been sidelined since breaking his left hand in late October. The team was already short-handed due to injuries, so his loss officially turned the season into a chance to land a high draft pick. Curry has been saying he would return by March 1st, which is eight days from today.
The Warriors aren’t making the playoffs, currently in the cellar of the Western Conference with a 12-44 record. Curry’s return will impact their lottery chances, but with a 3.5-game lead on Chicago for the worst record and five games up on Minnesota, they’re likely to still end up with a whole lot of chances in the lottery.
