The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a three-year, $35 million contract extension with SG Dillon Brooks, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Grizzlies just traded Andre Iguodala to the Heat and brought in Justise Winslow, who has two years remaining on his contract.

This move is a bit odd, at least for the timing. Brooks has shown some improvement this season, but is still wildly inconsistent. He’s averaging 16.1 points per game while shooting 42.4% from the field and nearly 40% from 3-point range. At 24, he’s still young and would be on a relatively friendly contract at around $11-12M per season.
