There will be two Phoenix Suns players facing off in the championship of the NBA 2K Players tournament. Devin Booker became the first to reach the title series by sweeping Montrezl Harrell Saturday, and Deandre Ayton joined his teammate by sweeping Patrick Beverley.
The first game between Ayton and Beverley was a close one. Ayton manned the Brooklyn Nets to a 75-69 win over Beverley’s Boston Celtics. Beverley didn’t have an answer for Kevin Durant and was overwhelmed from beyond the arc and on the offensive boards. Ayton was feeling comfortable after the win and shocked the world with his next pick.
Ayton picked his own team in Game 2 didn’t let Beverley lead for a single second. The Suns topped Beverley’s Denver Nuggets 74-67. Ayton opened up the trash talk while putting it on Beverley and sinking long range shots with Jevon Carter and others en route to an easy win.
Now Ayton will face off against his teammate in the finals for a chance to take home the crown. Both are coming off sweeps and have plenty of momentum.
