The NBA H-O-R-S-E Challenge continues on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET with the semifinals, leading into the finals. We’ve got four contestants remaining after the first round and both matchups are set. Chauncey Billups will take on Mike Conley in the first head-to-head and Zach LaVine will go up against Allie Quigley. We’ll be tracking all the action live, providing updates and dropping in highlights as well as recapping each match.
In the first round, Billups upset the favorite Trae Young with a comeback performance. The old timer wasn’t getting enough credit heading into the competition. Conley was up against Tamika Catchings and was able to get the W, doing the contest from an empty gym. LaVine took down former Celtics great Paul Pierce in a clean sweep. Quigley knocked off Chris Paul with some creativity to advance to the next round. Here are some highlights.
Mike Conley vs. Chauncey Billups
Conley gave Billups the first letter of the game with a bank shot from beyond the arc on the right wing to get things started. Then he followed up with a swish from behind the rim and a 360 shot off of one leg from the corner to build a three-letter lead over the Billups. Billups rebounded with a bank shot from the top of the key to cut the lead and avoid being swept though. Conley wouldn’t let Billups string together two wins in a row and made an off-hand shot from deep to give Billups an S. Conley finished Billups off with a granny shot from the free throw line to advance to the finals, where he’ll face either Zach LaVine or Allie Quigley.
