Report: DeMarcus Cousins won’t sign with new team, will sit out restart

The former All-Star forward had been with the Lakers but will sit out Orlando to rehab and get ready for the 2020-21 season.

It isn’t time to Boogie, unfortunately. DeMarcus Cousins has been working his way back from a torn ACL and has decided to sit out the restart of the NBA season in Orlando, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported Tuesday morning.

Cousins had signed with the Lakers during the offseason but didn’t appear in a game. It was always a long-shot for Boogie to be return this season, but there was hope he could be back for the end of the regular season or playoff run. Instead, Cousins will be cautious with his future and keep rehabbing rather than signing with a new team for the playoffs.
