The hits just keep on coming for the Brooklyn Nets. A week after signing forward Michael Beasley to make up for a variety of injury and Covid-19 issues, the team learned it will be without Beasley due to a positive Covid-19 test, according to reporter Shams Charania.
Beasley joined the team in Orlando, but has since reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus and is headed back home to quarantine. His roster status is unclear with the Nets’ season starting in 17 days. They are slated to face the Orlando Magic at 2:30 p.m. ET on Friday, July 31.
Beasley had not played since appearing in 26 games with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018-19. In that stretch he started two games and averaged 7.0 points in 10.7 minutes per game on 49% shooting from the field.
