Friday’s interconference scrimmage between Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers got out of hand early. The Grizzlies are eighth in the Western Conference ahead of the NBA’s restart on July 30. They were hoping to incorporate swingman Justise Winslow into their game plan, but he suffered a hip injury in practice and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. They weren’t enough to challenge a a 76ers team that many think could make a big run following an extended break.

Philadelphia returned to action looking healthy with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons ready to go. Much has been made of the 76ers’ plan to make Simmons a more traditional power forward, but he was still able to do a little bit of everything en route to his team’s 90-83 win.
