LeBron James hit the game-winner with 12.8 seconds left to give the Los Angeles Lakers a 103-101 win over the Los Angeles Clippers in the season opener in the NBA bubble in Orlando on Thursday.

LeBron rushed the last possession but it didn’t kill the Lakers. He followed up a miss with an easy bucket to give the Lakers a two-point lead. Anthony Davis scored 34 points for the Lakers. Paul George led the way with 30 points while Kawhi Leonard scored 28 for the Clippers, who were without Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell. PG-13 missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer that would have given the Clippers the win.

After trailing by 12 points after the first quarter, the Clippers were able to pull within two points at halftime, 54-52. It was all Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for the Clips, who were without Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams (NWT). Despite that resilience early on, Davis was just too much for the Clippers.

Davis was masterful all game, getting to the line 17 times and hitting 16 from the stripe to make up most of his scoring. Davis came in at 35.1% ownership on DraftKings in the Return Millionaire contest, which was a tie at the top on the two-game slate. Most of the chalk hit with AD, Donovan Mitchell, Paul George and Jordan Clarkson the highest-owned players.
