Kemba Walker will play Tuesday, rest Wednesday vs. Nets

Celtics PG remains on minutes restriction and will sit out against Brooklyn on the second of a back-to-back.

Boston Celtics PG Kemba Walker will play Tuesday against the Miami Heat and rest Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets.

Walker has been on a minutes restriction, though he is expected to play around 26-27 minutes against the Heat on Tuesday night. Coach Brad Stevens has told reporters that Walker is upset over the restriction, but understands the reasoning. Either way, we won’t see Kemba against the Nets.

Fantasy basketball and betting impact

We should expect Marcus Smart to start at PG in place of Walker on Wednesday. So the lineup will look like Smart, Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward, Jayson Tatum and Daniel Theis. The Celtics don’t have a deep bench, so Brad Wanamaker should see more minutes at PG as well.

For the betting side, we just witnessed a Nets team with 8 players who were on G-League contracts before the restart pull off one of the most amazing upsets in NBA history. No Walker shouldn’t change much for the Celtics against the Nets, but it’s clear Brooklyn isn’t a team we should underestimate. We’ll see what the line opens at tomorrow and which way things go.
