We take a look at the games on slate for Sunday, January 17 in the 2020-21 NBA season.

While the sports world is distracted by the NFL playoffs, we’ve got a full day’s worth of basketball in the NBA. When Aaron Rodgers was lifting the Packers to the NFC Championship game, the Brooklyn Nets had a big debut from James Harden, who finished with a 32-12-14 triple-double to help the Nets beat the Orlando Magic. Kevin Durant scored 42 points in the win as the two stars combined for 74 of 122 points.

There was also the return of reigning Rookie of the Year Ja Morant for the Memphis Grizzlies. Morant had missed six games due to a sprained ankle. He was back in the lineup on Saturday, scoring 17 points with 6 assists to help the Grizz edge the Philadelphia 76ers 106-104.

As we look ahead to Sunday, there are just six games because the NBA had to postpone the Wizards contest yet again. Washington has a handful of players in health and safety protocols after positive Covid-19 tests. The Wizards and Cavaliers also won’t play to start the week on MLK Day on Monday.
