Report: Nuggets vs. Sixers game to be played Saturday despite Covid-19 concerns

The Sixers are dealing with plenty of regulars who could be out due to contact tracing.

Game day update: The Sixers will have nine players eligible for the 3 p.m. tip against the Nuggets, per Adrian Wojnarowski. The available players will include Ben Simmons, Tyrese Maxey, Isaiah Joe, Dwight Howard, Dakota Mathias, and Tony Bradley, as well as three players who cleared the health and safety protocol on Saturday morning — Joel Embiid, Danny Green, and Paul Reed.

The game scheduled for Saturday between the Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers will be played at 3:00 p.m. ET as scheduled despite concerns surrounding Covid-19, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Sixers had a positive test and were forced to quarantine in New York after Thursday’s game. Seth Curry tested positive for Covid-19 and because of contact tracing multiple players were deemed questionable.

Joel Embiid, Danny Green and Paul Reed are among nine players expected to be available for the Sixers. That means Shake Milton, Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle are ruled out among the regulars in the lineup. Ben Simmons will also be available as he wasn’t listed as questionable.
