After being inches away from an ECF trip, the Nets have spent all offseason readying for a redemption season after an early postseason exit. Brooklyn will open the season against the newly-crowned Milwaukee Bucks, who eliminated them in seven games last postseason. With Kyrie Irving is unvaccinated and away from the team, Brooklyn will rely on Kevin Durant and James Harden to do the heavy lifting throughout the season with veteran role players needing to rise to the occasion.
Milwaukee is coming off of their first NBA championship in 50 years, in which they knocked off some of the league’s elite players along the way. The band is mostly back together to “run it back” for a chance to repeat as champions. The Bucks will begin their title defense against Kevin Durant, James Harden, and a Nets team that they defeated last postseason en route to their championship.
