The Charlotte Hornets will have their next two games postponed due to contact tracing surrounding Covid-19. The NBA announced Tuesday that the San Antonio Spurs will have their next three games postponed after four players tested positive for Covid-19. The Spurs and Hornets played each other on Sunday night, thus the postponements. So that means the Hornets won’t play the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday and the Denver Nuggets on Friday.
This shouldn’t put much of a snag in LaMelo Ball’s quest to win Rookie of the Year. Ball is currently a very big betting favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook at -500. We may see Tyrese Haliburton close that gap slightly with Ball not on the court for most of this week. Chances are it won’t impact the race that much unless the Hornets are out of play for a while. We saw this earlier in the season with the Washington Wizards, who had almost the entire team test positive, resulting in multiple weeks of missed games. Overall, the NBA has postponed around 30 games this season.
