Malik Beasley not starting Wednesday vs. Pacers after being late to walkthrough

Timberwolves guard will come off the bench after showing up late to walkthrough at practice earlier in the day.

Minnesota Timberwolves G Malik Beasley won’t start Wednesday vs. the Indiana Pacers after showing up late to walkthrough at practice earlier in the day. So the Timberwolves will go with a starting lineup of Ricky Rubio, Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Jarred Vanderbilt and Karl-Anthony Towns at home against Indy. Beasley is expected to come off the bench and will still be playing, though we don’t know if his minutes will be impacted by the disciplinary move.

I wouldn’t overreact much to this news. Beasley will probably still play around the same amount of minutes. The T-Wolves can’t afford to just bench Beasley, who is arguably their best scorer right now with KAT coming back from Covid-19 and D’Angelo Russell on the shelf due to knee surgery. Maybe I’d look for Edwards to be more aggressive on offense in the first quarter.
