Toronto Raptors coach Nick Nurse and five other members of the coaching staff have been placed in health and safety protocols and will not be on the sideline for Friday’s game vs. the Houston Rockets, Marc Stein of The New York Times reported. We aren’t aware of the other members and who will technically be coaching on Friday night. The Raptors released a statement shortly after the report and GM Bobby Webster is expected to make an announcement later on in the day.
UPDATE: Raptors PF Pascal Siakam is also in health and safety protocols and won’t play on Friday vs. the Rockets. We also know who will be coaching on the sideline:
Raptors say Scariolo, Nurse's assistant and the longtime coach of Spain's national team, will be in charge tonight against Houston with Nurse and five other members of the coaching staff entering the league's health and safety protocols— Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine) February 26, 2021

The Raptors are coming off back-to-back losses to the Sixers and Heat. Normally, we’d speculate on the absence of injured players, but this much of a coaching staff? Well, that’s a new one. You’ve got to think this impacts the Raptors against the Rockets. Will it be enough for us to not trust them in DFS? Probably not. Is it enough for us to consider taking the Rockets at +8? Maybe. It’s not like Toronto has been playing well and Houston is getting healthier. If the Rockets don’t rest anyone, the points could maybe be in play.
The other thing I’d be concerned about is whether or not this game gets played. That was six people placed in health and safety protocols and you’ve got to assume that Nurse and some of the staff were in close contact with some players. An update is expected later, so I would wait and see what Webster says before locking in any plays in this game or making any DFS lineups.
