The Knicks are 1-1 since returning from the All-Star break and remain in the thick of the playoff picture in the East. At 20-19, the Knicks sit in seventh place in the conference and are only 1.0 game back of the Miami Heat, who are in the 4-seed. It’s a tight race with teams trying to avoid the play-in tournament. The last time the Knicks faced the Nets, it was before the James Harden trade and Kyrie Irving was sidelined. New York will need to adjust if it wants to avoid another L, this time to Kyrie and The Beard.
The Nets will be without Kevin Durant for Monday’s game. In the previous meeting, Durant led the Nets in scoring with 26 points in the win over the Knicks. Brooklyn enters this game favored by 8.5 points despite no KD. The Knicks have been one of the better teams against the spread. So are the Nets. Brooklyn will look to extend its winning streak to five games.
