Ben Simmons made a 3-point basket. You know when scientists start yelling at us that some meteor or comet is going to fly by the Earth and it’s the first time in 20,000 years or whatever? This is basically the same thing. Simmons never hits 3-pointers. EVER! He’s hit four in his entire career, which is 251 basketball games in the NBA. That’s 0.02 percent of the time Simmons hits a 3-pointer in a game.
Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers were desperate at the end of their OT loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night. The ball got into Simmons hands and he didn’t think twice, launching it from beyond the arc. His prayer was answered and the Sixers lost 109-105. Still, it was pretty incredible to basically witness the NBA’s form of a Unicorn. THE BEN SIMMONS 3-POINTER! Here, take a look for yourself courtesy of Harrison_Grimm via Twitter:

Simmons had a solid game jokes aside. The Sixers are operating without Joel Embiid (knee) and kept things close with the Bucks, who are on a tear lately. Simmons finished with a triple-double — 13 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds, two steals and two blocks. He also had seven turnovers so C’East la vie?
