The NBA will release its 2021-2022 regular season schedule on Friday. We’ve got a look at the Phoenix Suns’ key games and notable odds with the draft a wrap and free agency mostly behind us.
The Suns had a drastically-improved season, finishing 51-21 and making it all they way to the Finals, as opposed to finishing 34-39 in the season prior and missing the playoffs completely. The addition of Chris Paul this past season was a massive help, and the combination of he and Devin Booker proved to be lethal for the Suns especially in the second half of the season and their impressive playoff run. Ultimately, after going up 2-0 on the Bucks in the Finals and looking like they were heading for a title, they lost the next four games straight to miss out on their first-ever NBA title.
Going into offseason, first and foremost they locked down Chris Paul with a 4-year contract extension worth $120 million, realizing that he’s arguably the most valuable piece of their team moving forward. They also signed Cameron Payne to a 3-year $19 million deal in the process. While they lost Torrey Craig to the Indiana Pacers, they re-signed Abdel Nader, and traded away Jevon Carter to the Nets in exchange for guard Landry Shamet. While Paul is obviously the biggest signing for Phoenix thus far, the other pieces they’ve brought in will certainly help their chances next season as they make another big push for the franchise’s first NBA title.
