Monday update: Head coach Nathaniel Hackett believes Boone’s injury is one that will end his season. The Broncos are still evaluating him but he’s unlikely to play again in 2022.
This is an unfortunate development for the running back, who had a big opportunity in this backfield with only Latavius Murray and Marlon Mack competing with him for touches. Murray likely retains his role as the feature back, while Mack slides into a complementary role. We’ll see if Boone makes a return but with the Broncos already out of contention, it seems unlikely they’ll bring him back if he won’t be 100%.
Nathaniel Hackett was asked if RB Mike Boone is done for the season:

"It doesn't look good right now for Mike. ... We're still evaluating it."
Denver Broncos running back Mike Boone injured his ankle in the second quarter against the Chiefs and had to be carted off the field. He is officially questionable to return, but it would be a surprise if he came back in, especially with the Broncos already down by 20 points.
