The Dallas Cowboys took care of business in Week 7, beating the Philadelphia Eagles XX-XX on Sunday Night Football. The Cowboys improved to 4-3 while the Eagles dropped to 3-4. Dallas holds a one-game lead over Philadelphia atop the NFC East. The Cowboys were a field goal favorite and covered to improve to 4-3 against the spread. The Eagles dropped to 3-4 against the spread.

The Cowboys jumped on top early and never really took their foot off the pedal. The Eagles elected to receive the opening kickoff, but then Dallas Goedert fumbled the ball five plays in. The Cowboys turned around and drove 45 yards to find the end zone on a 20-yard touchdown catch-and-run by Tavon Austin. The Eagles got the ball back, and then proceeded to fumble again — this time on a strip-sack of Carson Wentz. Two handoffs to Ezekiel Elliott later the Cowboys led 14-0.

The Eagles responded with a strong seven-play, 87 yard touchdown drive to cut the lead in half, but they could not get anything else going. They punted on three straight possessions before finally converting a field goal while trailing 27-7.

The Cowboys head into their bye week in first place. The Eagles’ schedule does not get any easier as they travel to face the surging Buffalo Bills in Week 8.

Fantasy football performances

Ezekiel Elliott was the high scorer for both teams. He had 22 rushes for 111 yards and a touchdown, along with six receptions for 36 yards. Dak Prescott threw for 239 yards with a touchdown and an interception, and added 30 rushing yards and a touchdown. Amari Cooper was the leading receiver with five receptions for 106 yards. The Cowboys defense had three sacks, an interception, and three fumble recoveries.

Tight end Dallas Goedert was the high scorer for the Eagles. He led the team with four receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown, but also had one lost fumble. Nobody else had more than three receptions or 38 receiving yards. Jordan Howard led the running backs with 50 yards. Carson Wentz struggled most of the night, throwing for 191 yards, with one touchdown, one interception, and two lost fumbles.
