The New England Patriots rolled through the New York Jets on Monday Night Football, and it was never close. The Patriots defense picked off Jets quarterback Sam Darnold four times and Sony Michel rushed for three touchdowns en route to a 33-0 win in Week 7. The Patriots improve to 7-0 on the season, while the Jets drop to 1-5.
It was a miserable night for Darnold who added a fumble to finish the night with five turnovers. He was mic’d up for the game, and at one point he admitted to seeing ghosts after one of his interceptions. The Patriots came at hime all night long with a zero blitz, and he never had a chance. When you’ve got Devin McCourty and Stephon Gilmore as your two cornerbacks, you really don’t need safety help.
The five turnovers resulted in short fields most of the night. None of the Patriots skill position players had huge games, but they didn’t need to. Michel only managed 42 yards on 19 carries, but he punched in one touchdown from three yards out and two more from a yard out to lead all fantasy performers.
Running back James White was the team’s leading pass catcher with seven receptions for 59 yards. Jakobi Meyers led their wide receivers with five receptions for 47 yards. Tom Brady completed 31 of 45 passes for 249 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
The Jets got almost nothing going most of the night. Le’Veon Bell led the team with 15 rushes for 70 yards, and Demaryius Thomas led the pass catchers with three receptions for 42 yards.
