The Minnesota Vikings host Washington in what could be a one-sided affair on Thursday Night Football to open Week 8 of the 2019 NFL season. The Vikings offense is picking up steam and their defense remains a stout unit. They face a Washington team that is reeling amidst a host of problems all over the roster. The Vikings are a sizable favorite, sitting at 5-2 and a game back of the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North. Washington is 1-6, at the bottom of the NFC East, and in the thick of the race for one of the top picks in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The first came at home against the New England Patriots. It is the seventh overall time dating back to 1984. Washington is 1-6 straight up and against the spread in such situations. Their lone win was a 24-17 upset of the Dallas Cowboys as a 17-point favorite on December 3, 1995.
The big news for this game is Adam Thielen’s hamstring. He injured it on Sunday and is hoping to turn around in time for Thursday. He will likely be a game-time decision at best, but will be worth tracking given the fantasy football implications. The same could be true for Adrian Peterson, who is dealing with an ankle sprain.
