Dolphins, Falcons win to decrease chances at No. 1 pick in 2020 NFL Draft

We have a clear favorite for the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Whether or not the Bengals are trying to tank, they stink.

Break up the Miami Dolphins! The quality of opponent hasn’t been great, but Miami has managed a two-game win streak. They beat Brian Hoyer and the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday to improve to 2-7 and now find themselves two games out of the top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Plenty can change over the final seven weeks, but the Cincinnati Bengals and Washington are looking awful enough to be the top two however this shakes out. Washington sat out the week on bye, but the Baltimore Ravens crushed the Bengals to keep Cincinnati winless. Ryan Finley debuted at quarterback and was clearly not the answer in place of Andy Dalton. A.J. Green remains sidelined with his ankle injury, and it looks more and more like he’ll be packing it in for the season sooner rather than later.

The stunner this week saw the Atlanta Falcons go on the road and upset the New Orleans Saints. Given the lost season and their rivalry, it was effectively the Falcons Super Bowl — and they showed up for it. Atlanta was in control most of the day which was the most surprising aspect of it.

The big matchup this week saw the New York Jets host the New York Giants. It was actually a highly entertaining game that saw the Jets grab a two score lead, blow it and see the Giants take the lead, and then put up 13 unanswered points to secure a win. The Jets got their second win to move into a tie with Miami and Atlanta. The Giants head into their bye a half game up on those three teams.

Week 11 brings a big matchup between the Jets and Washington. A Jets win removes New York almost entirely from the conversation for the top pick. A Washington win and a Bengals loss in Oakland would give the Bengals a two-game lead with six games remaining. Pretty big stuff!

Here’s the draft order for the top six teams, all of whom have no more than two wins through Week 10. After including three wins up until last week and seeing how bad the Bengals are, we are informally eliminating the three-win teams from contention. SOS via Tankathon.
