The NFL announced some significant changes to Weeks 12 and 16 on the regular season schedule to get bigger matchups in front of bigger audiences. The league can flex games into and out of Sunday Night Football and late season Saturday football, and they’re doing so with the San Francisco 49ers.
The league announced that the 49ers Week 12 home matchup with the Green Bay Packers will be flexed into Sunday Night Football on NBC. The league moved the Seattle Seahawks vs. Philadelphia Eagles to 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
The league also settled their Week 16 Saturday schedule. They had planned on a series of games, but waited until the playoff picture started to clear up a bit. The league has set the following games for a Saturday triple-header on NFL Network.
- Houston Texans at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Saturday, December 21, 1:00 PM ET, NFL Network.
- Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots, Saturday, December 21, 4:30 PM ET, NFL Network.
- Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers, Saturday, December 21, 8:15 PM ET, NFL Network.
