The Cincinnati Bengals 2019 season has been a disaster and it got started to a certain degree at the starting of training camp. Wide receiver A.J. Green suffered an ankle injury that resulted in torn ligaments and required surgery. There was talk at the time that the rehab process might take in the six-to-eight week timeframe, but that was not the case.
Green has remained out while rehabbing the injury as the Bengals continue through a season that has them on track for the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He made an appearance in practice midway through the season, but swelling has slowed his progress.
We will provide updates throughout the season as Green works to get back on the field. He is a free agent following the 2019 season, so it is entirely possible he ends up missing the whole season to get healthy for free agency next March. Follow along here for updates as we see whether or not A.J. Green returns and plays another game for the Bengals.
As of Week 12, Green has not been practicing. He came back a few weeks back, but swelling resulted in him taking a seat. He has not practiced since.
