The Browns-Steelers rivalry has always been intense, but the brawl between Myles Garrett, Mason Rudolph, and a host of other players in Week 11 has heightened tensions. Both sides are heated over the incident that started with Rudolph yanking at Garrett’s helmet and ended with Garrett swinging and hitting Rudolph with the latter’s helmet. It turned into a multi-player brawl, with Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey kicking at Garrett as the latter was on the ground.
Since then, we’ve seen extensive support on both sides for their respective players. Earlier this week, Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens wore a shirt blaming Pittsburgh for starting it. Now on game day, the Steelers are responding with their own apparel. Ramon Foster posted a picture of “Free Pouncey” merchandise and on Sunday at least one player was spotted in the sweatshirt.
The environment in Pittsburgh in Week 13 could be a crazy one. Both sides have a ton to play for in this game, and there is no love lost.
So shirts are indeed going to be a thing today... Here’s the first of several #Steelers players showing solidarity for their captain, who went after Myles Garrett after Garrett went after Mason Rudolph. #CLEvsPIT pic.twitter.com/QF73ChHnEm— Aditi Kinkhabwala (@AKinkhabwala) December 1, 2019
