Eli Manning, Saquon Barkley lead Giants to draft pick-busting win

The Giants put together a solid effort against Miami. The only downside is it could cost them draft position.

It was not pretty at times, but Eli Manning got a win in what might be his final start at home for the New York Giants. The Giants thumped the Miami Dolphins in Week 15, winning by a final score of 30-13.

The win is huge because it effectively ends the Giants chances of claiming the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Giants were a game back of the Cincinnati Bengals coming into the game. Considering the Bengals still face Miami, it was possible the Giants could move into a tie with them. However, with the win and Cincinnati’s loss to the Patriots, the Bengals now hold a two-game lead on the Giants with two games to go.

Eli Manning had some highlights in the win, but it was also a showing of his struggles at this late point in his career. He threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw three interceptions. He benefited from a solid defensive effort against the Dolphins and workhorse running back Saquon Barkley putting together his best performance since suffering his high ankle sprain. Barkley finished the game with 112 yards and two touchdowns.

The Giants travel to face Washington next week, followed by a home game against the Eagles to close out the game. Rookie quarterback Daniel Jones could return to the starting lineup, but his status is uncertain for Week 16.
