The NFL heads into Week 16, and with the college football regular season finished, it means we get our one weekend of NFL regular season Saturday football. It’s a triple-header airing on NFL Network, and all three games feature significant playoff implications.
The day opens with the 7-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosting the 9-5 Houston Texans. The Bucs are mathematically out of the playoff race, but the Texans have plenty on the line. They beat the Tennessee Titans last week to take over first place in the division and hold a one game lead with one head-to-head matchup in hand.
The game kicks off at 1:00 p.m. on NFL Network. The Texans are a 3.5-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the point total sitting at 49.5. The Texans are -175 on the money line, while the Bucs are +155.
The Bucs have a host of injury issues at the wide receiver position. Wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are both unlikely to play, and the team placed Scotty Miller on injured reserve. Add in kicker Matt Gay dealing with a groin injury and safety Jordan Whitehead dealing with a hamstring injury, and it’s a mess. Meanwhile, the Texans are waiting for linebacker Benardrick McKinney to get through the concussion protocol, and Carlos Hyde is limited with an ankle injury.
We’ll be tracking everything for the game, from odds to fantasy. Check back here throughout for everything that goes down in this inter-conference matchup.
