The New Orleans Saints brought in free agent wide receiver Antonio Brown for a workout on Friday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The report came after Brown posted a photo to his Instagram Story of the waiver of liability any free agent has to sign before conducting a workout.
Brown is still being investigated by the league for multiple allegations of sexual assault. The Patriots released him after signing him shortly before the season started. He has since been unsigned and going through the league’s investigatory process.
The Saints could decide to sign Brown, but given the NFL is still processing their investigation, odds are decent he would have to be placed on the Exempt list pending any disciplinary decision. It remains to be seen whether that would impact his availability for the playoffs, but it will be something to track between now and whenever the Saints are playing their first playoff game.
