First playoff clinching scenarios arrive for Week 14

The NFL heads into Week 14 this week, and we have the first official entrant into the NFL’s postseason tournament. The New Orleans Saints clinched the NFC South on Thanksgiving with a win over their rivals, the Atlanta Falcons. New Orleans is currently the No. 1 seed ahead of the Seattle Seahawks. The Saints host the San Francisco 49ers

As Week 14 dawns, we’ve got a host of playoff clinching scenarios on the docket. Last week, the Patriots and 49ers both had a chance to clinch with a win and someone else losing. Both New England and San Francisco lost, so they head into Week 14 with another clinching scenario.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens took over the No. 1 seed in the AFC in Week 13, courtesy of their win over the 49ers and the Patriots loss to the Texans. Baltimore travels to face the Bills in Week 14.

Clinches division title:

1. BAL win + PIT loss or tie
2. BAL tie + PIT loss

Clinches playoff berth

1. BAL win
2. BAL tie + TEN loss or tie
3. BAL tie + HOU loss or tie
4. HOU loss + IND loss or tie + TEN-OAK ends in tie

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs travel to face the Patriots in Week 14.

Clinches division title:

1. KC win + OAK loss

New England Patriots

The Patriots host the Chiefs in Week 14.

Clinches playoff berth:

1. NE win
2. NE tie + PIT loss
3. NE tie + TEN loss or tie
4. NE tie + HOU loss or tie
5. HOU loss + IND loss or tie + TEN-OAK ends in tie

Buffalo Bills

The Bills host the Ravens in Week 14.

Clinches playoff berth:

1. BUF win + HOU loss + OAK loss or tie + IND loss or tie

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks moved into first place in the NFC West with their win and the 49ers loss in Week 13. They hold the head-to-head tiebreaker with San Francisco, with one game remaining between the two in Week 17. Seattle travels to face the Rams in Week 14.
