The New England Patriots host the Tennessee Titans in the Wild Card round of the 2020 NFL playoffs. The game is scheduled for Saturday, January 4th, with kickoff set for 8:15 p.m. ET. The game will air on CBS. If the Patriots win, they will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round. If the Titans win, they will face the Baltimore Ravens.
The Patriots finished the regular season 12-4, clinching the AFC East. They had a shot at a first round bye, but blew it with a Week 17 loss to the Miami Dolphins. A last second 27-24 meant New England had to settle for the three seed and no first round bye. Considering Tom Brady and Julian Edelman are among a group of banged up Patriots, the bye would have been extra helpful.
The Titans finished the regular season 9-7 and clinched the AFC’s second wild card berth with a win in Week 17. Derrick Henry rumbled for 211 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Ryan Tannehill had an efficient 198 passing yards with two touchdowns as he continued a strong run since taking over as the Titans starting quarterback.
New England opened as a 4.5-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the point total still to be determined. The Patriots finished the regular season 9-7 against the spread and went over the point total seven times. The Titans finished the regular season 9-7 ATS and went over the point total ten times.
